May Degustabox Review

Regular readers will have seen my glowing review of the April Degustabox last month. This month I have been lucky enough to receive another box to review.

If you haven't heard of Degustabox before, it is a monthly subscription box containing foodie items so you can discover new flavours every month.

Yet again I cannot fault the delivery for the box, I was emailed and texted and , it arrived within the hour timeslot I was given. The items inside are well packaged, protecting them while in transit.
As you can see, the Degustabox was packed full of products for us to try out.
This months box contained a really good variety of products from a mix of well known and smaller brands.

Dr. Oetker Cake Release Spray. I was excited to find this in the box, I love to bake but always worry about my cake sticking to the tin. This product promises to eliminate the need for greasing your tin and can also be used on silicone bakeware. I used this pretty much straight away and I'm happy to report that it works!

Cawston Press Cloudy Apple. Again I was excited to see this in my box, last month I tried the rhubarb version and said I would love to try the apple one too. Cawston Press deliver a better soft loopdrink made without preservatives, additives or artificial sweeteners. I wasn't dissapointed with this drink, i had mine fresh from the fridge and it was lovely and refreshing. I will be buying this and the Rhubarb flavour in the future.

Elizabeth Shaw Dark Chocolate Cocoa Crunch Flutes. I've never tried any Elizabeth Shaw products before so was interested to see these included. Elizabeth Shaw is one of Britain's longest established chocolate brands so they must be doing something right, the Flutes range is new and comes in a variety of flavours. These chocolate batons feel and taste a little bit special and they would be a lovely little gift.

Kettle Sweet Potato Chips Lightly Salted. These are another product that is new to the market and make a nice alternative to the traidional potato crisp. These are baked instead of fried so have 50% less fat than fried versions. They are also available in Sweet Chilli flavour.

Hornsby's Crisp Apple Cider/Strawberry and Lime Cider. This is another brand I've not tried before. I decided to pair them with the kettle chips and a DVD for a date night with Phil. We both enjoyed the fruity ciders.

Taylors of Harrogate Blackberry and Elderflower tea. I am a big fan of both fruit teas and Taylors of Harrogate teas in general so this was perfect for me. The tea is love my and has a really nice fruity taste. I will most likely purchase some of the other new flavours to try, I particularly fancy the Sweet Rhubarb.

Lizi's Granola On the Go. This is a clever product ideal for when you are in a rush or have to eat in the go, the packaging can be used as a bowl and there is a spoon included. All you need to do is add water and you will have a tasty bowl of granola with lactose free milk. I've not tried this out yet but I'm sure I will soon.

Raw Raw Energy. Raw is a sugar free gum that gives you an energy boost. I will/be honest and say I don't thend to chew gum but I have given them/to Phil who does to try them out.

Garofalo Elicoidali Pasta. We eat pasta at least twice a week and I will be honest and say that I like good pasta so I was delighted to see Garofalo in this months box. With over 76 different shapes of pasta available they make something for everyone. You can really taste that this is a nicer pasta.

Cirio La Classica Passata and Supercirio tomato puree. I buy passata and tomato puree most weeks as I use them to make a lot of sauces. Cirio is a great well known brand and these products reflect the quality of the brand. I used these to make a simple tomato sauce which I have frozen in small portions to have with pasta, on chicken or even as a pizza topping

I praised the Degustabox last month but I have to say I think this months box is even better. Every product is something I would buy and use. I also really liked that some of the products could be combined to make a meal. The combined price of these products is over £21 so to get them delivered to your door for just £12.99 is great value.

The lovely folks over at Degustabox are offering you all £3 off when you register with them. Simply go to their website and use the code 55M6X
