Every family has their own Christmas traditions and i always love reading about them so i thought i’d share ours.
My family weren’t huge on traditions as i was growing up so these are things that we have started doing since my boys arrived. We are not religious so for us Christmas is about spending time together as a family.
The German Market. Each year in the run up to Christmas we visit the german market in Leeds. We look at all the stalls, eat yummy food, have a go onthe carousel and choose a new decoration to take home,
Christmas crafting. The weeks before Christmas are a flurry of glitter, metallic card and salt dough as we get our craft on. From footprint cards to tree decorations we love Cheistmas crafts.
Christmas cooking. Peppermint creams, gingerbread houses and spiced biscuits, cooking is a huge part of our Christmas and the boys love helping me out.
Giving to charity. In all the merriment it is easy to forget that not everyone is having such a lovely time so we like to do something for others. We are not well off but far more fortunate than some and i want my children to know that, We give food to our local food bank regularly and at Christmas pop some extras in like advent calanders for the kids.
Christmas Eve Box. This is something that seems to be growing in popularity. We have a hamper on Christmas Eve with new pj’s, hot chocolate amd some activities. I will do a post on our box soon.
