Christmas 2014

One of the main reasons I blog is so i always have posts like these took back on. I love posting about special times and Christmas is always one of those. At 4 Seb is just the most amazing age for Christmas, he was so full of excitement which rubbed off onto Alex, it was such a magical build up this year.

The tree went up mid December and every day when the lights go on Alex claps and says ‘wow’. He has really amazed me by not being constantly taking things off though he loves to touch the decorations that he can reach. We only had one instance of the tree being knocked over, so I think we did pretty well! Christmas Santa tracking
Christmas Eve is my favourite day and this year we had a special delivery of our Christmas Eve box to keep us busy. We also tracked Father Christmas and his journey around the world onon the NORAD app and found the places he was visiting on our globe so it was a mini Geography lesson and then I had Seb asking about some places being dark while others were light so we have a quick lesson using a bauble as the sun! Seb was so excited at bedtime, sprinkling reindeer food outside, leaving mince pies and carrots out and of course hanging the stockings on the bedroom door and checking to see if he could see Father Christmas outside.
Meanwhile Phil and. I were downstairs buildingbuilding up the dolls house and scooters. toys r us wooden dolls house lit up, Christmas 2014
On Christmas Day itself we were left waiting for Seb to wake up(such a lazybones!). When he did I asked if he though Father Christmas had been he said no, I said I though I could see something peeking out of his stocking and he leapt out of bed. The boys opened their stockings in our bed before going downstairs to see if there was anything under the tree and they were so excited to find presents.
When they spotted the dolls house Seb said “this was what I wanted!!” which pretty much made my day. Then they opened their other presents before both sets of grandparents came over to see them. I made lunch once everyone had gone, we took the boys scooters our for a year run and then we had a lazy afternoon and evening playing with new toys. christmas 2014 opening presents, messyChristmas 2014 scooter ride
Once the boys were in bed we relaxed with a drink(I love my new champagne glasses), candles and some TV which i thought was pretty bad this year apart from Downton of course! Christmas 2014 red candle, glitter swan, wine
On Boxing Day Phil took the boys to our local rugby derby  and the afterwards we all went to his parents where Alex spent ages playing the piano. Then home for a party food buffet before bed. It snowed too which was pretty exciting(sadly it didn’t last). Christmas 2014 toddler on piano
We are suffering from the Christmas hangover now, lots of toys to find space fornowforno and I have the urge to have a big sort out in the house! We are going to sort the playroom tonight as a starting point..
