Mini Weekend Box Review

Last week the boys received a brand new Mini Weekend Box to review.

If you haven't heard of the Weekend Box before it is a children's activity subscription box founded in 2013. Aimed at children aged 3-8 and themed around topics the activities fit into four catagories; something to make, something to bake, something to explore and something green. The original Weekend Box contains 4 activities but now they have introduced the Mini Weekend Bod containing 2 activities for those who may not have enough time to finish 4 activities.

I reviewed the original box quite some time ago now and i was curious to see what activities the mini weekend box would contain. The box is letterbox friendly so it doesn't matter if you aren't home when it arrives plus it is addressed to your children (and what child doesn't love post!).

This box had a rainforest theme and there are two relevent activities included inside as well as some rainforest facts.
The first activity was to grow your own rainforest, the box included seeds, compost pellets and string and we just needed to provide an empty plastic bottle to grow our rainforest in.
Planting activities always go down well with my boys, they love planting seeds (they have already chosen what we are growing this year) and seeing things grow so they enjoyed doing this and have been checking on it daily(nothing to see yet) but I would have liked to know what it is that we are growing!

The second activity was making a parrot mask. For this we didn't need to provide any extras and it was easy enough for Sebastian to do with minimal input from me and we were left with a fun mask to play with.

The Mini Weekend Box is priced at £4.95 per fortnight including delivery. My readers are being offered the chance to try their first weekend box for free, simply use the code EMMA125 when signing up! Any further boxes will be charged but you can pause or cancel at any time, there are no contracts.

**We received a Mini Weekend Box for the purpose of this review but all opinions are my own**
