Lighten the Load with Ecover

I think every parent is familiar with the piles of washing that seem to come with having small children,  throw in a husband who gets filthy at work and seeing the bottom of the washing basket becomes something of a dream. My washing machine sees a lot of action, from the boys mud stained jeans to grease marked work clothes to cloth nappies, it definitely earns it's keep.
Ecover are keen the lighten the load for those of us who have a seemingly never ending cycle of laundry and they sent me a bottle of their natural Ecover Non Bio Concentrated Laundry Liquid, some white vinegar to run a maintenance wash and some top washing tips to help Lighten the Load so I have more time to spend on the important things in life! The liquid is ideal for for the whole family, tackling a whole host of stains even at 30°.
I have been using our Non Bio Liquid on my washing this week(including my new baby washing) and I am so pleased with it, everything in coming out fresh, clean and smelling lovely.

How to Lighten the Load

Washing Machine Maintenance Once a year,  rin a wash cycle with hot water and a bottle of white vinegar. This cleans out residue that may accumulate in your machine.
Get Organised Set up a weekly laundry schedule, whites on a Monday,  colours on a Wednesday and towels and bedding on Friday.
Separate Whites and Colours Separate dirty washing in a series of laundry baskets for whites, light colours, dark colours and so on and encourage the family to use them.
Plan Ahead Try scheduling your wash to go on while you are out or on your way home from work and take it out as soon as you get home.
Treat Ingrained Stains Treat stains right away with Experience Stain Remover before using Ecover Non-Bio Concentrated Laundry Liquid.
Caffeinate Your Jeans Soak your favourite black jeans in a bucket of black coffee before washing them, the coffee acts as a dye to rejuvenate the dark denim.
Clean Up Your Whites If your whites are greying, add 1/2 a cup of lemon juice to your wash with your detergent to give them a new lease of life.
Streamline Bedding When washing your bedding turn the duvet cover inside out and do up the buttons so it is ready to put it on and you won't lose anything inside of it.

Do you have any tips to help lighten the load?

**I received some Ecover products for the purpose of this post but all opinions are my own**
