What we ate in August 2016
I'm back with my monthly round up of food we have been enjoying this month. here is what we ate in August. We seem to have had lots of treats this month, or maybe they are just more fun to write about?
At the start of the month it was Phils birthday so we decided on have lunch out at Frankie and Bennys as they had sent him a birthday voucher. He opted for a Calzone and I had a Cajun Chicken Pasta, the boys both had pizza with salad which was a huge portion for a kids menu, not that they were complaining!
Of course you can't have a birthday without cake, the boys decided that Phil would love a Paw Patrol cake so I ordered some toppers from eBay and a cake was speedily assembled.
Talking of cake, The Great British Bake Off is back on our screens and I made a classic lemon drizzle cake to celebrate and I am planning to bake along and join in with the Great Bloggers Bake Off.
We spent a day at the seaside this month, we opted for Scarborough along with what felt like the rest of Yorkshire! The weather was beautiful and we had milkshakes (and this amazing cherryade float for Phil) in The Harbour Bar and fish and chips on the beach in the evening before heading home.
We also ate at Pizza Hut this month, I haven't eaten there in years, our local branch (Wakefield) was recently refurbished and i was pleasantly surprised, it was lovely inside and we had a yummy lunch, the boys loved the unlimited salad and the ice cream factory!
