If you are a regular reader you will already know that we are a few weeks into weaning Barney. I absolutely love the weaning stage and Barney us doing really well so far. I feel that is really important that I am exposing Barney to a range of tastes and textures during weaning while ensuring he eats healthily at the same time.
We were lucky enough to receive a hamper of Aldi Mamia baby food items to try out. While I am a huge fan of Aldi nappies and wipes, I must confess that i have never looked at their baby food products before so I was interested to see how the award winning range compared with other brands on the market. I was pleased to discover that the range is 100% organic and that the flavour combinations are interesting.
We were asked to try our Mamia food products on a day out
As we are right at the start of our weaning journey we stuck to the pouches that we received and the fruit pots as these are for the first stages. For our family, ready made baby food is kept in the cupboard to take on days out or if I have forgotten to defrost something homemade. The Mamia products came with us to Scarborough when we visited the waterpark for a day out in the park and also to The Baby and Toddler Show. I love that these products are easy to pop into the changing bag, there are no worries spillages or about a jar breaking en route and the with the fruit pots you can simply just take a spoon and feed straight from the pot, no bowl needed. Barney really enjoyed both the pouches and pots, they are perfect for the start of weaning and beyond. The rice cakes are a great snack option for older babies and toddlers, a great staple for the kitchen cupboard and so much better than reaching for a chocolate bar or biscuit. With the range starting at just 59p I will be taking a look at what else is on offer in my local store.
As I mentioned at the start of my post, I am also a big fan of Aldi Mamia nappies and wipes and always stock up when they hold their regular baby event. We also have a stock of their cellular baby blankets and bargain muslins. I also love that during the baby event Aldi stock Bambino Mio nappies as we use a combination of cloth and disposable nappies, they are an easy to use nappy at a great price so if you want to give cloth a try, it is worth popping to Aldi.
