Room on the Broom Adventure Trail (revisited)

In 2015 I wrote about the Room on the Broom Adventure trail that had opened close to us in Wakefield. We have visited a few times as it is a nice walk and when we went last week I decided to take the camera for some updated photos. The boys look so small back in 2015 and now we have Barney!

The Room on the Broom Adventure trail is located at Anglers Country Park in Wakefield. The pushchair friendly trail is 2 miles long and circles around the large lake. Activity packs to go alongside the trail are available at the visitors centre. As well as finding sculptures, children are encouraged to look for animal footprints, trace rubbings and do various activities along the way. Perfect to keep the little ones amused.

The trail took us around an hour with lots of stops and starts and looking at daisies and horse poo along the way. We enjoy this walk as it is suitable for all ages. It is lovely that Barney is able to get more involved on days out now. He definitely enjoyed having a good feel of the sculptures.

At the end of the trail you can treat yourself to a cuppa from the small cafe in the visitor centre while the children enjoy the playground. Remember some change for ice creams too!

This is a great free family activity for all. If you are looking for more family activities to do in Wakefield check out my posts below.
