On the day of our visit we had a table booked for 5pm but we unfortunately got stuck in awful traffic and were late. I was a bit flustered when we arrived but the staff were really friendly and it wasn't a problem at all. It was nice to see that they were fairly busy even on a chilly Wednesday evening. There were families having dinner and other customers having drinks and relaxing.
We got ourselves settled and checked out what Barnbow has to offer. The menu is varied as well as the option of carvery and pizza, there is a good range of meals on offer to suit all tastes. Phil opted for a large carvery and I went for a ham and pineapple pizza. The childrens menu has a cute dinosaur theme and both Seb and Alex chose pizzas and flavoured milk. I picked out macaroni cheese for Barney and just a glass of plain milk.
Once you have chosen, you order and pay for your food at the bar. If having a carvery you get a ticket to take which shows that you have paid and once you are ready you can go and choose your meal at the carving deck. For the other meals you are given a buzzer which goes off once your meals are ready. I think it would be fab if there were some colouring sheets and little crayons given out for younger children along with the buzzer to keep them busy while waiting.
Once your buzzer goes off, you go up to collect your meals and then help yourself to any extras. The boys loved helping themselves at the salad bar which was all very fresh.
We all enjoyed our meal at Barnbow, the staff were friendly, and the food tasty. The meal came to £42 in total which I feel is amazing value for 2 adults and 3 children. I am sure we will now head to Barnbow again.
